Today my doc and I were having a conversation and I told her more about my stint in the mental ward at UCLA. About this guy who introduced himself to me all normal and almost happy-ish but then telling me he's there because he tried to kill himself. My doc then said that usually the suicidal ones are somewhat happy and free of their previous depression because they finally have a plan. Depressed people tend to curl up and not do anything because, well, they are too depressed to plan.
Funny how this isn't news to my ears. How and where do you think I find the strength to function whenever it swings to bad?
